Stephanie Yates holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and a Masters degree in Nursing from Duke University with a primary focus in adult oncology. She received specialty training in the field of wound, ostomy and continence care nursing, completing the Wound Ostomy & Continence Nursing Education Program at Emory University. More recently, Stephanie continued her formal education, completing a Post Masters certificate as an adult nurse practitioner at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
Practicing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in acute care for over 15 years, Stephanie has also practiced in home health, long term care and an outpatient wound clinic. In her current position, with a combined role of Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner, she sees patients throughout the Duke Cancer Center, in all stages of treatment and survival, with wound, ostomy and continence problems. She is also a consulting associate faculty member at Duke University School of Nursing.
